Autumn of Giants is a collaborative storytelling game of a group of humans guiding and protecting a Colossus on the way to rest and shelter for the Winter. It tells of a desolate and gentle journey through lonely and beautiful places. And of a small group of people who will do everything they can to protect a friend.

Inspired by the games Fall of Magic, People Get Older, Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian, and Even The Ocean.

Crafted for 3 to 5 players over 2 or more hours. Uses notecards and writing implements (or equivalents).

--

Move from location to location, describing the broad strokes of each environment from the colossus's perspective as a group and then zooming in on individual scenes from the humans' points of view.

Describe how your characters change over the course of the journey, using the shift, carry, and shed options. Face daunting Perils or find respite in Interludes with group scenes between locations.

Each playthrough will always end at the same place,                   The Sleeping Grounds, where colossi from all over gather to prepare for the Winter.

This game is a true delight! The settings and descriptions lend themselves to such grand adventures! I've played Autumn of Giants several times and wouldn't pass up a chance to play again.

Dear Tetra, I would love to translate your game in French. I play so many wonderfull games of Autumn of the Giants this month. And I'm sure a lot of friends will love to buy and play your game. What do you think about this idea of a translation ?

Hi, thank you so much for your support of my game.

A French translation would be awesome, however it isn't in the cards for me right now.

I don't have the budget necessary, and given how niche AoG is I think it will be difficult to justify the cost going forward.

If that changes, I'd be happy to get in touch.

Thank you for your kind awnser. I can give you a complete translation if you want : I already translate your game for my personnal use. It just need some proofreading. I can do it in a few weeks and offer this translation to you for free.

That's very generous, but I'm afraid I can't accept. I don't want to profit off of your work without compensating you properly.

Oh, I see. But it's not a work for me, I already have one. So serious with computer and such. It takes me more than 10 hours per day and already filled me with joy - I don't want to "work" for RPG, but I think that your game is important and deserves to be play by more people.

So I offer you this translation as a gift. To thank you for creating such a nice game.

I've talked this over with some others to get a wider perspective.

I'd be comfortable uploading or linking to it as a free fan translation, French speaking players would have free access to the game. If they like it and want to support me, they can buy the English version.

As soon as I put it behind a paywall, from my perspective I'd be obligated to pay you and provide customer support for the French version of the game.

I'm incredibly grateful that you like my game enough to have translated it and to offer this. It's important to me to handle this carefully, hence my responses.

What a beautiful game you made ❤️

I found it very inspiring and I was like 😭 when I read it. I love both themes and the very freeform rules
